Sparkii

Sparkii is a tool designed to reignite conversations lost to the culture of likes, swipes, and passive scrolling. We aren’t a social network. We are a bridge to help you restart real dialogue with the people you care about—without the noise, anxiety, or awkwardness of a cold call.

Absolutely not. We have explicit “non-goals”. You won’t find a news feed, algorithms, influencers, likes, or comments here. Sparkii is designed to help you move away from your screen and into a real conversation. If you’re looking for a place to perform or debate, this isn’t it.

It’s for anyone who feels overwhelmed by digital chatter but isolated in real life. It’s especially great for people entering new life phases (graduates, new parents, empty nesters, retirees) who want to reconnect with old friends, former colleagues, or family members they’ve drifted from.

We use a “Double-Blind” system that prioritizes curiosity and consent.

You choose: You select a small circle of trusted contacts you want to reconnect with.

They choose: They must also have Sparkii and have selected you.

The signal: When you tap “Light the Spark” to mark yourself available, your mutual contacts get a mystery notification: “Someone is available to talk.”

The reveal: They can see someone is live, but to see who, they must “Light the Spark” too. Once you are both available, the identities are revealed, and you get the green light to call!

Why the mystery? It removes the pressure. If you see “Someone is live” but you aren’t in the mood to talk, you just don’t light your spark. No one knows you saw it, and no feelings are hurt.

You are signaling that you are free to talk right now. You control the terms using two simple settings:

Time: Use the slider to set your availability window, anywhere from 15 minutes up to 2 hours.

Vibe: Let friends know what kind of energy you have. Choose from Quick Chat, Catch Up, or Story Time.

This gives your friends instant context—so they know if it’s a 5-minute hello or a deep dive—without you needing to type a single word.

Sparkii initiates the connection, but the call happens over your regular cellular phone network. We don’t use VoIP, so you get the call quality, privacy, and reliability you’re used to. Sparkii does not keep a record of calls made or received.

We can’t read your address book, and we don’t want to. We never store or transmit the raw phone numbers of your contacts. We calculate a “salted hash” (SHA-256) of your contact’s phone number locally on your device before sending it to our servers.

Unlike encryption, a salted hash cannot be reversed, but the calculation always results in the same random string of characters for a given phone number.

No. It is a “double-blind” system. Nobody sees who you have added unless they have added you, too. If you add an old college friend who isn’t on Sparkii (or hasn’t added you), they won’t know.

No. Your “Available” signal is visible only to the specific people you have mutually matched with and only if they have also signaled availability. Strangers and acquaintances you haven’t added to your circle, or who haven’t added you to their circle, will never see your status.

No. Pressing the “call” button in Sparkii simply launches your native phone dialer, so Sparkii cannot access the audio or call metadata.

Yes! You can add up to 20 contacts for free. In the future, Sparkii may become ad-supported, and we may offer a paid tier to remove ads and provide additional capabilities we have in mind.

We believe in clarity over complexity. Sparkii works best when you curate a list of people you actually want to talk to. By limiting the list, we encourage meaningful choices that are likely to lead to a conversation.

Yes! Sparkii’s mission is to reignite meaningful conversation, and the only way we were going to accomplish that is to remove the mobile platform as a barrier. So, we did what no startup does and co-developed for both. Every time we release an update or a feature, we release it for both.

Yes! Sparkii only works when your circle is there with you. You can easily share an invite link via text or your social channels directly from the app. More than that, we’re trying to change the world and we need advocates.
